Red Cherry Shrimp

Species: Neocaridina Heteropoda (Red)

Origin: Selectively bred strain from Taiwan

Size: 1-2 inches fully grown

Tank Size: 2-5 gallons for a few, 10+ gallons for a colony

Water Parameters: 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit, they can live in lower temperatures but it is not recommended and they will not breed.  0-10 ppm Nitrates preferred.  Hardness of the water does not matter that much as long as it is not at the extreme.


Red Cherry Shrimp are some of the best algae eaters that you can include in your tank.  They eat many types of algae, and will clean up even the most algae ridden tank quickly.
